Nav.Ae.+

The aim of Nav.Ae.+ (Sistema de Apoyo y Servicios a la Navegación Aeronáutica, Support System for the Aeronautic Navigation) is the development of an instrument capable of providing aircrafts new support services for navigation.

It offers an aid to the airplane crew decision making process, providing a reduction of costs and improving the operating results.

This tool combines the satellite navigation systems GNSS (which today cannot be used as the only navigation method because there is no guarantee of service continuity for civil users) with Augmentation Systems (such as SBAS, GBAS, LAAS and ABAS) ensuring continuity and enabling a more precise positioning.

Nav.Ae.+ will be combined with an open GIS system allowing the execution of services based on satellite navigation and offering new operative capabilities for aircraft fleets.

Project´s objective and aim

The main advantage of this system will be the improvement in managing the amount of information that is provided to pilots.

The crew will be able to set-up on the ground the system on which they can count during the flight with an aid to the decision making process that will improve flights operations with a greater simplicity and security.

Nav.Ae.+ es un proyecto realizado por Avanzit Tecnología, Anova IT Consulting y la Fundación de la Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio con número de expediente TSI‐020302‐2009‐075 , y ha sido financiado por el Ministerio de Industria, Turismo y Comercio dentro del Plan Nacional de Investigación Científica, Desarrollo e Innovación 2008-2011 y por el Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional (FEDER) de la Unión Europea (UE).
